Arbeloa turns careers advisor

Whilst the biggest story of the summer so far, may not have landed with Liverpool, our number 17 has taken it into his own hands to say a few words on all the Ronaldo drama.

Arbeloa’s former club Real Madrid are hot on the heels of twinkle-toed Ronaldo, much to the dismay of Manchester United and their support. Alvaro moved quickly to advise the Portuguese International on what he should do, saying:

“For us it would be a good news because for Manchester United he is very important and if Ronaldo is not in Manchester for Liverpool it is good.”

Whilst Liverpool fans can’t gloat too loudly due to a shirt-burning incident, it has been interesting to see how quickly the Manchester United fans have turned against their number 7. Many believe Nani is now the true talented player in the squad and they can live without Ronaldo.

The departures of such players as Cantona and Beckham were often touted as the beginning of the end for United but proved premature, however, few departing players have been as instrumental in United’s success as Ronaldo has been. His farewell may also pave the way for departures from Carlos Queiroz, Nani and Anderson - the two latter players believed to have been signed to help settle Ronaldo at the club.
